<abstract>Es el tomo preliminar que recoge las advertencias generales dadas para esta colección que trata fundamentalmente de documentos pertenecientes a los reinos de Castilla y León, como lo son las noticias del fuero antiguo de Burgos ampliado con un análisis de sus fuentes. Además, podemos encontrar, en este tomo, las advertencias que Campomanes desarrolló sobre la suma del Maestre Jacobe llamada De las leyes y un discurso de Antonio Robles sobre behetrías sumado a noticias sobre estas. A su vez, constan inventarios sobre el fuero de Vizcaya, como inventarios de otros que aparecen a lo largo de la colección. Por otro lado, también se reseñan datos sobre el reinado de Enrique IV y la constitución del reino como una ilustración del fuero de Toledo. Finalmente, podemos encontrar reflexiones de Francisco Espinosa sobre leyes y fueros.</abstract>
